The iPhone X discards an already innovative fingerprint ID system for a futuristic “TrueDepth” camera system that bathes your face in more than 30,000 invisible, infra-red dots. As the name implies, TrueDepth produces a face scan that can spot a photo fake, while preventing someone from accessing your iPhone X while asleep.
Perhaps even more remarkable is the use of this front-facing depth camera to help you customize animal emojis. You have already witnessed the tremendous impact Apple’s emoji have had on culture.
